Welcome to Laughing Fox Soaps! 

Hi! I’m Maria the human behind Laughing Fox Soap Co. — a small-batch soap brand born from a love of working with my hands, a nerdy fascination with how things work, and a desire to escape a future of endless spreadsheets and bad office lighting.

I started making soap in 2020. (It was either soap or sourdough, and my apartment was already full of carbs.) Turns out, I loved it. The measuring, the mixing, the swirls — equal parts science experiment and art project. Plus, as someone with eczema, I was craving something gentler than what I was finding in stores.

For a while I made soap for friends and family. But I realized how much I wanted to connect with others through my creative spirit and to make things that made people smile. I created Laughing Fox Soap Company to do just that.

 

Why “Laughing Fox”?

One day, I stumbled upon a video of a fox laughing — and I swear, my heart burst wide open. That sound, so pure and unexpected, has stuck with me ever since. It reminded me of everything I want this brand to represent — joy, simplicity, nature, a touch of mischief, and the magic of small, happy things.

That’s the feeling I hope to pass along with every bar of soap — the kind of feeling you get when your pet does something ridiculous, or when you catch a perfect sunset on a warm summer night without even trying. That's what I want this brand to feel like, clean, cozy, and a little wild. 

 

Our Soap Vibe

Every bar is made by hand in small batches. That means no two are exactly alike, varying slightly in weight, color, and shape— kind of like snowflakes, or your ex's excuses. Some are colorful and quirky, others are more minimal. All are created with skin-loving ingredients and a spirit of fun.

You’ll find soaps that are:

  • Plant-based (we always note if a soap contains animal fat)
  • Scented with both essential oils and fragrances (so there is something for everyone)
  • Colored with a mix of natural clays & botanicals, and/or cosmetic micas & pigments
  • Free of palm oil, parabens, phthalates, sulfates, plastic packaging, and nonsense
  • Cruelty-free and made with ethically sourced ingredients 

We're not here to judge your choices — just to make you feel pampered, playful, and like your best-smelling self.

We don’t claim to be 100% “natural” — we’re not purists. We believe in balanced self-care: making soaps that feel good, smell amazing, and make you smile, without overthinking every ingredient.

Some soaps have petals, some sparkle, some smell like desserts, and some smell like walking through a forest barefoot. All of them are made with love, laughter, and that small batch charm you won’t find in big box stores.

 

The Heart Behind the Bubbles

At Laughing Fox, we are nature-soaking outdoor creatives who are happiest with a full heart and soapy hands. This company is our way of combining creativity, care, and connection. We dream of one day building a small homestead with a garden full of herbs, a yard full of chickens, and probably a few muddy kids running around.

Until then, we pour that dream into every bar.

Our soaps are about more than just lather. They are about slowing down — a playful pause in your day. Smelling amazing. Remembering to laugh a little (Adulting is hard. Soap helps).
